Who We Are
The Birthday Squad of Columbus was founded in May 2026 with a simple mission: to make sure children experiencing financial hardship feel recognized, celebrated, and valued on their birthdays.
We are a newly established nonprofit serving children and families throughout the Columbus community. While we are just getting started, our vision is to grow into an organization that brings meaningful birthday celebrations and joyful experiences to children who may otherwise go without.
We are currently beginning on a smaller scale by partnering with local schools to provide birthday gifts for children in need. Through donations, community support, and volunteers, we work to make birthdays feel special and memorable for every child we serve.
As we continue to grow in the Columbus area, our long-term goal is to host local birthday celebrations and community events that create lasting memories for children and families.
We are grateful for every person, school, donor, and volunteer who chooses to support our mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, partnerships, or spreading awareness, we welcome all help as we build and expand our impact in Central Ohio.

The Birthday Squad of Columbus is looking for volunteers to help purchase, organize, and deliver birthday gifts to local schools throughout the Columbus area. We also welcome support with school outreach and community partnerships as we continue growing our network and expanding our impact.

With the help of donations and volunteers, we collect and purchase new gifts to help fulfill birthday wishes.

Volunteers organize, wrap, and prepare gifts with care and excitement.
🚗 Birthday Joy Is Delivered
Birthday gifts are delivered to participating schools so children feel celebrated during their birthday month.

FAQs
Cash donations are most appreciated. While we accept gifts and books, these items must be new and in original packaging. Additional items accepted are wrapping supplies such as wrapping paper, birthday gift bags, bows and scotch tape.
What donations are the most helpful to The Birthday Squad of Columbus?

Our operating revenue comes from individual donations and corporate sponsorship and donations. We do not receive federal or state funding.
How is The Birthday Squad of Columbus funded?

Do you accept gently used donations?

No. We gift only toys, books, and clothing that are new and in original packaging when celebrating birthdays. There are many organizations throughout our community that accept gently used items to help support those in need. Please work with those organizations for those kinds of donations.
Is The Birthday Squad of Columbus part of a national organization?

No. We currently work to serve the Columbus Metropolitan community.
The Birthday Squad of Columbus was inspired by The Birthday Squad in Buffalo, New York. While each organization operates independently, we share a common mission of celebrating children and bringing birthday joy to families in need.
